PAGEONE leads the way in the Philippines with its groundbreaking online campaign, “#NotJustAGirl: Breaking The Gender Bias Against Women,” a dynamic initiative dedicated to addressing the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, with a specific focus on advancing gender equality.
#NotJustAGirl serves as a resounding call to action, urging society to confront stereotypes, prioritize equal opportunities, and cultivate profound respect for women. At its core, this campaign holds a powerful mission — to empower the next generation, transcend gender-based barriers, and ensure that every individual, regardless of their gender, enjoys an equitable position in society.
The urgency of this campaign is underscored by the alarming findings of the Gender Social Norms Index (GSNI) report by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), which reveal that nearly 9 out of 10 individuals worldwide still cling to deeply ingrained gender biases against women. These biases have real-world consequences, perpetuating the underrepresentation of women in diverse roles and facets of life.
In response, PAGEONE partners with Brown Bag Communications Phils, Inc. (BBCOMM) to launch this campaign to help challenge and reshape prevailing perceptions about women’s capabilities, emphasizing the critical importance of equal opportunities and unwavering respect for women across all sectors of society. The campaign achieves this through the sharing of compelling stories, interviews, and profiles of women who have shattered glass ceilings and defied the odds to achieve greatness. By disseminating these inspiring narratives, we aim to initiate and fuel essential dialogues about gender equality, sparking a collective movement to break free from the constraints of stereotypes.
With #NotJustAGirl, we are leading the way towards the creation of a more inclusive society where every woman can thrive and realize her full potential. This campaign is a driving force for change, paving the path toward a world where gender biases are dismantled and women are granted the equal opportunities and respect they undeniably deserve. Together, we are championing a future where every individual, regardless of gender, can live a life without limitations.
